Peel the bitter cassava

Grate the cassava

Load the moist cassava mash into a matapi

Weight the matapi to press the liquid out. The white liquid is poisonous, but it is collected to be prepared later as cassareep. The poison is strychnine, but this breaks down when boiled.

Extract the pressed cassava from the matapi.
